Project Update: Feeder Watch

It is not too late to sign up for Project FeederWatch.  This program is an annual survey of the winter bird population and distribution across North America.  The program is run by Cornell Lab (US) and Birds Canada.  There is an $18 fee to join, which helps support the research program and gives you a digital subscription to a quarterly magazine. Participants log birds two consecutive days a week from November 14th to April 9th.  Hours are logged under Citizen Science: Bird Counts.

I noticed this song sparrow today, getting ready for a bath in the frog pond.  Yes, there is a shallow spot there, where I put some rocks to help the hapless lizards get out after their pond races.
